Zero turn ride-on mowers are operated via two transmissions or drive systems; you control the machine by holding two levers (one in each hand) and moving them forwards or backwards according to which direction you want to go. Each of these levers will control one of the rear wheels.
The name ‘zero turn’ is a reflection of the fact that these mowers are able to turn on the spot; the next time you are cutting grass in a narrow strip, you won’t need to reverse out or perform a three point turn because you can simply turn around where you stand.
There are many reasons why operators prefer zero turn mowers to other ride on’s, including the superior maneuverability and considerable reduction in mowing time that these machines offer.
